Robotics is thriving in India and has lately acquired momentum in the global IT sector. Educational institutions and robotics companies have established competitions and seminars for students and working people to promote Indian robots. Robots in India employ a mix of important cutting-edge technologies such as AI, robotics, and IoT to develop improved features.

We have curated a list of Indian robots that received attention in the global market with the tag “Made In India”.

Shalu

Shalu, the world’s first handcrafted artificially intelligent multilingual social and educational humanoid robot, was developed by Dinesh Patel of Uttar Pradesh out of waste materials such as plastic, cardboard, wood, and other wastes. Shalu is fluent in 47 languages, including 9 Indian and 38 foreign languages.

In support of the Government of India’s ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative, the ‘Made in India robot’ caters to women and girls in India. Shalu employs AI and facial recognition technology to identify and recall individuals and their identities.

Manav

Manav, India’s first 3D-printed humanoid robot, was created by A-SET Training & Research Institutes in New Delhi. Diwakar Vaish, the robot’s programmer, demonstrated the robot at the IIT Mumbai Tech fest. Manav’s whole construction is made of 3D-printed plastic components.

The robot is a research helper that uses AI and robotics to merge visual and sound processing skills. In reaction to human commands, it can walk, talk, and dance. It is famous for acting like a human youngster and performing push-ups with open-source software.

Mitra

Mitra Robot is a humanoid robot created by Invento Robotics, a Bangalore-based company founded by Balaji Viswanathan. At the Global Summit for Entrepreneurship, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ivanka Trump unveiled this five-foot Indian robot (GES). Robotics and artificial intelligence were used to create the robot, which greets customers with face recognition technology, a speech recognition tablet on their breast, and autonomous navigation. Mitra’s clever task is to grasp different languages efficiently and successfully.

Kempa

Kempa is a humanoid robot driven by AI and built-in Bengaluru by Sirena Technologies. It will be stationed at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport, greeting and guiding visitors in both English and Kannada.

Sandy

Sandy is a well-known humanoid robot built by i-Brain Robotics in India. It is the first human-sized humanoid robot with artificial intelligence in the world. Sandy’s five-foot-tall construct is designed to exactly duplicate human emotions using a cosmic network of sensing circuits. It is intended to help a wide range of businesses, including hospitality, banking, and healthcare.

AcYut

AcYutAcYut is an Indian robot designed by BITS Pilani students that have won several honors in yearly robotics contests. It is known as the “Made in India” robot in the global tech industry since it earned the bronze medal at the 2009 RoboGames, the world’s largest open robot competition with competitors from 28 countries. It is renowned as the only Indian robot to compete in these robotics events, and its name is Sanskrit for “the one who never fails.”
