The term “robot” conjures up images of famous Hollywood humanoid characters, but in reality, robots are mostly undramatic mechanical devices programmed to perform specific repetitive functions and tasks that people may find boring, dirty, or dangerous to perform on a daily basis.
They are also programmed to perform tasks that humans may find difficult. Robots affect many aspects of our daily lives, from service robots in grocery stores and shopping malls to industrial robots used in the automobile industry. Robots will soon be able to read our texts, converse with us, clean our windows, deliver packets and parcels, prepare our pill-boxes, and even assist us in getting back on our feet if we fall or have difficulty just getting up. We saw them first in the military, then in industrial chores, and now we see a new generation ready to do household chores, maintenance work, leisure activities, or participate in educational activities. These robots, whether macro- or nano-sized, humanoid or dronoid, are on their way to becoming our future companions. So, where are we today?

Household
Because robots are designed to reduce human effort, their technology enables them to provide fully automated functions while remaining user-friendly. In a typical household, robotics such as cooking bots, lawnmowers, or vacuum cleaners that help humans by easing their efforts and acting as a helpful assistant complete the assigned tasks quickly and effortlessly. Not only that, but they can also pet animals, help with laundry, pick up toys, clothes, newspapers, assemble furniture, move heavy objects, and pick up calls and have formal conversations. Robotics technology employs Artificial Intelligence, allowing them to practise machine learning for improvement.
Industrial work
Robots can replace humans in dangerous jobs, and they can also replace the workforce required in an industrial workplace. While manually managing the speed and quality of work became more difficult, with the advancement of robotics technology, the number of tasks requiring physical participation can now be replaced by robotics. They offer benefits such as increased speed and production, reduced human error, avoiding accidents, and assembling heavy parts to develop high-tech machinery. They are also intended to perform a repetitive task, such as nut-bolt fastening or brand-label wrapping.
In every sector robots have their role in our daily lives, it has made our daily tasks easier and more convenient to complete, saving human energy and effort while reducing human errors and ignorance at times.
